• One Day Seminar on ‘Present Prospects on Hindi as the National Language’ (sponsored by the Hindi Sahitya Academy, Gandhinagar) was organised on 19th December, 2008 at GLS Auditorium. Following dignitaries graced the occasion:

The seminar was attended by 189 students and 40 lecturers of various colleges. As many as 10 Research Papers were presented by the participants.

• The C.U.Shah Commerce College Alumni Association gathered on 28th December, 2008 for the Award/Prize Distribution Ceremony.

• College Magazine ‘Knowledge 2009’ was released by the Chairman of NAAC Peer Team.

• The NAAC Peer Team visited college on 22-23 January, 2009 for accreditation.

• The college launched its annual magazine ‘Knowledge 2009’ on 22nd January, 2009.

• Grand Cultural Programme showcasing cultural and traditional talents of Gujarat was organized by the college during the NAAC Peer Team visit on 22nd January, 2009.

• The college was accredited with ‘B’ Grade by the NAAC, Bangalore on 8th March, 2009.

• The college formed Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as per the NAAC guidelines after having been accredited by the NAAC.
